HAPPY BIRTHDAY MOM

It was my mom's birthday yesterday Feb. 3! I was so happy because I was able to be home from St. George for it. Well I decided to write a post about my mom because I was going through my room up north and I found a talk I gave when I was a Young Women in my home ward. I want to share what I wrote and I want to add to it because seriously my mom is AMAZING!! Ok so a little introduction my topic for the talk was charity. I gave 7 qualities that charity is composed of and used my mom in each of the qualities. I am going to add a little more to some of them now because I have realized so much that can be added now.

First is PATIENCE. I mean I don't think I need to say more than she has 9 kids and 14 grand kids. She always handles everything so calmly and never gets mad at us knowing that we will make the right decision, even though it takes some of us longer. She is always willing to wait and make sure we get the things done.
Second is KINDNESS. My mom has shown kindness in many ways, The main way she has shown it is the way she helps everyone especially my sister Brynn (my handicapped sister). She is always making sure Brynn has everything she needs and is always helping her. She does everything for Brynn and never complains. She brings her with her everywhere she goes and takes care of her so well. Also, she shows kindness in the way she helped my grandparents that lived in our basement (both just passed away this past year). She did their laundry, made them meals (which she would make two meals because my grandma was a vegetarian), she went shopping for them, took them to doctor appointments and was always running errands for them regularly.
Third is THOUGHTFULNESS. My mom is always thinking of everyone! She worries about what they may think and doesn't want to offend anyone. She is always concerned on what is going on in our lives. My mom always makes calls to all the kids just checking up on them or seeing what is going on. I will now add since being down at school the last 4 years she always thought of me and made sure I had everything I needed. I loved when got a call from my mom saying I haven't talked to you in awhile what is going on. She always thought of me and would get me updated on the family.
Fourth is UNSELFISHNESS. My mom is very unselfish, She is so unselfish that we usually have to force her to go get her nails done or go shopping for herself, but even if she goes shopping for herself she ends up bringing back clothes for someone else. Also, when it comes to eating with my family she is always the last one to eat because she wants to make sure everyone got food. Sometimes we really have to dish up a plate for her just so she will eat. Also, she will drop anything she is doing for us kids. My mom has always been there to support all of us. For example, when my brother and sisters need a babysitter she is always the first to volunteer and stop whatever she is doing to watch them. For me she has dropped everything to come and support me in my soccer career. She was so unselfish that she gave up thanksgiving dinners to come watch me play or any other plans. My mom puts everyone before herself and is always serving everyone else.
Fifth is LOVE FOR FELLOWMEN. My mom seriously loves everyone. I have never heard my mom say she hates anyone. She loves and cares for everyone. My favorite thing she told me was "You don't hate anyone; you just dislike what they did." Can I just say now that saying is soo true. I have grown to learn through my mom's example to love everyone I have come into contact with. I mean we are commanded to love one another and my mom has shown that to me.
Sixth is CLEANLINESS. My mom has always been clean and pure in the church. She is always worthy to go to the temple. Also, she has great standards that are an example to me. My mom is probably one of the most innocent people I know. She has been an example to me and has taught me to stay clean and to use the atonement so I can stay clean and pure.
Seventh is ENDURANCE. My mom has shown endurance through all the hard times she has been through. Some of her greatest challenges come from her family and their actions or needs, yet she doesn't complain, just endures. She always stays steadfast and keeps enduring to the end no matter what happens in her life. Seriously, I look back at everything my mom has been through and I have no idea how she does it all. She just continues to press forward looks at the big picture. She is an example of a person enduring to the end.

I remember giving this talk and surprising my mom with it. She had no idea that I was going to talk about her. I remember after sacrament going up to her and her eyes were filled with tears thanking me for saying everything. Also, her humble side came out and said she didn't deserve all those things said about her. My mom really is amazing. I look up to her so much. She has taught me pretty much everything I know. I don't think she realizes the example she is to me. I honestly would be completely lost without her and the help and advice she gives me. I could go on forever about my mom and everything she has done for me. I love my mom and I am so grateful for her. I hate to break it to everyone but I definitely have the BEST MOM EVER!!
I LOVE YOU MOM!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!

I have been waiting for this day for sooo long and I can't wait to try jogging. I am actually pretty nervous about it and I know I will look quite funny when I first try but I don't care one bit. Well I will be trying to jog either later today or tomorrow so we shall see how it goes!!

Summer of 2011

Ok there is soo much that has happened this past 8 months that I haven't blogged about. I decided to break it up so the post wasn't forever long so first I am going to talk about my summer 2011.

First, WEDDINGS!!
I am pretty sure it was the summer of weddings. Three of my best girlfriends all got married this past summer. There were three girls from my soccer team that got married and I am pretty sure there were a few more weddings I went to that I am forgetting about

Cortnee and Todd's Wedding
Jordy and Adam's Wedding
(Minni, Beacher, Robin, and Danica also in pic)
Lauren and Chris's Wedding
Jacque and Taylor's Wedding
Second, moved home....I moved back to Sandy for the summer. (Mainly because I had all the weddings to go to)

This is the last day in our apartment at Rebel Creek. Seriously, this was such a sad day. I couldn't believe I was leaving STG. I won't lie I might of teared up a little bit on the way home. Also, this was the last day with our roommate Paige. She is now Sister Conrow in Independence, Missouri. I love her and miss her so much! Her mom is also in the pic because this was the day of her Farewell in STG.
Some of my nieces and nephews made signs for my sister Brynn. She had problems and was in the hospital for a week. This was the day she was finally allowed to come back home.
Third, Family and Friends
This summer was way fun because all my friends got back from their missions and we had so much fun. We were always doing something every night. It definitely was one of the best summer's ever!! Also, just being at home with my family again was a blast. I had lived in st. george the previous 2 years so it was good to just be able to always be around my family. I love them so much.
Jess and I going down the giant slip n slide at flat iron!! Soo fun!
Some of the crew at the slip n slide
(Tyson, Eddy, Haws, Zach, Jess, Me, John, and Taira)
Some of my family celebrating the 4th of July!! My family is crazy and it is always a party when we are all together. I love it! I laugh so much when I am with them.
Ammon's little sister Nikki was in a play so we all went to go see her. She was a superstar!
(Alicia, Janelle, Ammon, Minni, Courtney, Me, Alex, and Nikki)
BNDR (Bowling Night Done Right) Every Thursday my friends and I would go bowling for super cheap. We would all wear jersey's or whatever we decided that night. It was great!
McCaslin playing soccer. It is my favorite thing to go watch my nieces and nephews play soccer or do whatever sport they did!! Love it and especially love this girl. She wants to do everything I do. I asked her where she wanted to play college and she said Dixie!! I don't know if I am the best role model but I am glad she looks up to me!
Lastly, just a few other things I did this summer were working out every morning at 6 with Minni (we seriously only missed 2 days), reffed the dixie camp for a week (soo funny having all the girls get mad and act like its a championship game), played lots of indoor, pool parties, swimming, laying out, snow cones, scooter rides, motorcycles rides, and just lots of laughing and having fun!!
It was an amazing summer and I loved everything about it! I wish I could go into detail about everything but maybe someday I will refer back to it all.

I'M BACK

NO MORE FACEBOOK!!
Yep it is offical I deleted my facebook or as it says deactivated it. I have wanted to do it for awhile now but I just spur of the moment decided to finally do it. In other words its time to blog more! Soo be expecting blog updates real soon.......

School is OVER...well sorta

SCHOOL IS OUT

I seriously didn't think the daywould come.

This past semester was definitely my

HARDEST semester ever!!

My classes consisted of all upper division psychology classes

Abnormal Psychology

Health Psychology

Research Methods

Cognitive Psychology

Personality Theory

I just remember thinking at the beginning of the semester

"What am I doing taking all these classes?"

Well I am very proud to say

I DID IT!!

I made it through the semester and on top of it my grades

were actually really good. I surprised myself on how

well I actually ended up doing.

3 A's and 2 A-'s

It is such a great feeling to be done

BUT...

sadly I started summer school on Monday.

I think I must be CRAZY...

who takes summer school?

Well to justify it they are both online classes

History of Psychology

Social Psychology

and they only last a month.

So it can be that bad right?

Weddings, weddings, weddings

Sooo this year I decided is the year of marriage. I feel like EVERYONE I know actually just everyone in general is getting married. I must have missed the memo because trust me I don't plan on getting married this year.

Well in particular these 3 wonderful girls in the picture with me are all getting married this summer. They are 3 of my closest friends from middle school and high school. I played soccer and went on countless tournaments with them. I freakin love them to death. I am soo happy they are getting married. Cortnee's (girl with scarf on) wedding is first. I am lucky enough to be able to go up north right when finals start to go to her wedding this Friday. She is marrying one of my best guy friends Todd!! They are soo cute together and are high school sweethearts. Next is Lauren's (girl in white jacket) wedding. Lauren has been my best friend since I swear FOREVER!! The guy she is marrying I actually sorta set them up. Well I dragged her along to come hang out on new years with a friend I know from Dixie and Chris happened to be there. I can't wait for their wedding and she really is amazing. I give her so much credit because Chris is in the army and he had to go to Iraq so she never has been able to be in the same spot with him more than 2 weeks. It's unbelievable. Finally, Jacque's (girl in brown coat) wedding!! Oh i just love Jacque!! When playing soccer parents would always confuse us on the field because supposedly we look alike. She is hilarious!! I don't know her husband Taylor that well but from what I know they are a perfect match. They both have the same kind of humor and they are going to be perfect together.

I seriously can't believe they are all getting married. I think it's finally hitting me that I am not going to have any friends this summer up north. Well I guess I could but I don't know if they really would want me to be the third wheel all the time. I can't wait for all their weddings and to see how beautiful they all look. I am sure I will post pictures after their weddings!! Let's hope that maybe one day I can do what everyone else is doing and get married!! I probably should find a boyfriend first tho haha

ROOMIES!!

I seriously have the best roommates EVER!! So the past week my roommates and I have had conversations about how we won't be roommates anymore in a couple weeks. Everytime it comes up it makes me sick to think about. I freakin love having roommates especially these two girls (Paige and Minni). They seriously are amazing!! They are great examples to me and always making me want to be a better person. Paige is very caring and always willing to chat with you!! She has an amazing testimony of this church and she got me in the habit of going to the temple every week. Also, she is amazing cook. Her cinnamon rolls, breadsticks, chocolate chip cookies, fried tacos and everything else is ALWAYS sooooo good!! Minni is the greatest!! She is soooooo caring!! Whenever paige or I are sick or just having a bad day you can count on minni either getting ice cream, chocolate, or just sitting and talking to you!! She always makes you feel a lot better about yourself and seems to make you laugh!! She is such a good listener!! She probably gets sick of hearing all my drama!! I freakin love them both so much and I really think I am going to have withdrawals when I move home this summer!! I am going to miss the amazing conversations we get in....pretty sure we could talk for hours each day and have something new to say!! I am going to miss going out to eat with them, laughing, making music videos, the advice they give me, dance parties, and everything else!! I am very blessed to be able to live with these two girls!! I have become such a better person and gained a stronger testimony after living with them!!

4th of July (we made ourselves a way good dinner and then went and did fireworks)

One of the many nights we were baking something. I want to say we were making no bake cookies

Random photo shoot night!! I wish I could post all the ones from this night because they are hilarious On my birthday just partying!! THRILLER
Ok this is one of the many music videos we made!! We learned this country hip hop dance!! The video of it is hilarious so we decided to learn it!! We mess up a couple times but lets be honest none of us are way good dancers!! I wish I could post some of the other music videos we made because they are hilarious but this one will have to do!!

Untitled from Whitley Davis on Vimeo.

I have had soo many amazing times with these girls!! I am so grateful they put up with me and my weirdness!! I can't believe we have lived together for 2 years now!! Time sure does fly!! Love them to death though!!

busy, busy, busy

It's been way too long since I have updated my blog so I am just going to put in pics of some of the things that have happened since my last blog.

First, Christmas break was AMAZING!! It was way fun to be back hanging out with my high school

friends! I loved every second of it. (Mandy, me & Lauren)

Second, Mandy and I karaoked for like 2 hours one night and it definitely was the best thing ever!!

I NEEDED it!! I love Mandy and I am so glad she came in from Washington for the break.

Third, I WENT ON A CRUISE!! Yes I missed the first week of school and went on a cruise with some of

my family. It was so fun and relaxing! I wish everyday that I could go back. (my niece Jersie and me in Cabo)

Fourth, my lovely old roommate Haley who I miss so dearly has come and visited

a couple times which I freakin love when she does. Well one of the times she came

we went shooting with Alex and Teisha. Alex has the sweetest guns ever and we definitely

got some sweet pics from this occasion!

Fifth, DUNK YOU!! Yep that is right the soccer team made intramural basketball teams!! It was probably one of the most funniest but intense at times thing ever. Let's just say we won one game...ok fine the other team didn't show up that's why we won. It really was the best thing ever until April partially tore her acl again. Worst thing ever!! (back row: nessa, danica, wendy, minni, erin front row: mindi, me, april) Sixth, spring soccer which equals weights, running, soreness, bruises, fun, and third knees?? During our game vs UVU I got kneed in the knee at the first of the second half. Well I kept looking at it through out the half and it seemed to just keep getting bigger. Finally, with the game almost over I looked down to find I had a third nasty knee or whatever you want to call it. It just turns out its just a bruise and now 3 weeks later it is still bruised, numb, and hard right where the girls knee hit mine. Love soccer!! Seventh, my roommates (well Haley is ex-roommate) are the GREATEST ever!! I seriously love my roommates and am so blessed that I live and are best friends with them. I consider them my sisters. They are wonderful examples who make me want to be a better person. We have so many fun times together and I am going to be sooo sad when I won't be living with any of them this summer (Minnie, Pahee, Hey hay, me) Eighth, spring break 20-11 baby!! This spring break was the first year that I didn't have some trip planned to go on. Freshmen year I went on a cruise with my best friend Lauren and sophomore year I road tripped it to Huntington beach with Jacie and Minni. Although I didn't have any big plans it still turned out amazing!! I was able to go home for two days and spend time with my family and help my best friend lauren with some of her wedding plans. After that I cam back to stg and meet and hung out with these wonderful people. We went on a hike which was amazing and did many other things like dance in a parking lot all night. It was a great spring break!! (ashley, sarai, kenzie, me, amber, and minni) Ninth, TIP-C!! yep more intramurals with the soccer team. This time we are trying out volleyball. It has been hysterical. We have improved each game but still haven't won one. We have been way close tho!! Playoffs are next week!! We are going to be the underdogs!! I think it's safe to say we are a lot better with our feet then our hands! (back row: sorry don't remember her name, minni, kelsey, danica, erin front row: nessa, me, kat) Tenth, minni's family or shall I say my family because I am their adopted sister came down to visit for the weekend for Minni's birthday. We had tons of fun eating, bowling, playing games, walks, climbing trees, and of course lots of pictures. It was a way fun weekend and I can't believe Minni is just growing up haha (Spencer, Minni, Me, Whitney, Tanner) Finally, like I said before it was Minni's birthday on the 27th!! BIG 21!! Yep you better watch out cuz she is legal now!! Bring on the Partying!! haha It was a fun weekend with her family and we even celebrated it during spring break with these great friends. Did you know you get a free pizza in the shape of how old you are turning on your birthday at pizza factory!! Sooo yummy!! I am so lucky to have Minni as a roommate/best friend/sister!! She is one amazing girl. She is really quite at first but shoot when you get to know her.....funniest sweetest greatest girl ever!! I could definitely write a novel on her so I will save that for another post but all i can say is I love her and she really is amazing!!
Oh yeah we can't forget to mention school which has been soo BUSY!! Let's just say I am usually gone everyday from 8:30 in the morning till 6 or 7 at night...classes, soccer, library is my usually routine!! Well there is a little glimpse to what is going on in my life but overall I am having tons of fun and enjoying everything!! I am going to try and do better at this whole blog thing from now on!!

Movie Time

Well this Christmas break I have had plenty and I mean plenty of time to catch up and watch movies that I have wanted to see!! I am pretty sure I have almost watched a movie (sometimes two) everyday this break. It has been great. I have watched a lot of movies with my nieces and nephews. My nephew Jackson and I have watched Toy Story 3 about 3 times now. There is still a lot more movies I want to see so good thing that I have plenty of time to watch them!!

Jack Jack and me watching Toy Story 3 in my sister's room

Some of the other movies I have watched since being home are Inception, Despicable Me, How to Train Your Dragon, Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs, Salt, The Tourist, Made of Honor, Sweet Home Alabama, Step Up 3, The Sound of Music, Dear John and I know there are some more that I am forgetting about. I love movies!!

Christmas

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!

My dad as Santa Clause

Christmas is a wonderful time of year. I can't believe that this day has come and gone already. I still feel like we should have another few months till its Christmas. This Christmas has been amazing and I have so much to be grateful for!!
1. The birth of our Savior!! I think a lot of people especially me get caught up in buying, giving, and receiving gifts; food; time off; friends; parties; Santa and much more that comes along with the holiday season that we forget about the true meaning of Christmas. It is a time to remember our Savior and all he has done for us!! He gave us the atonement which I am so thankful for because I know I am far from perfect. It is nice knowing that I can always repent and be forgiven for my sins. I am so grateful for the birth of our Savior and I am grateful for Christmas to come so I can be reminded of it and how important it really is. My friend Minni sent me a picture the other day. It is a picture that they found in the Provo tabernacle after it burnt down. My brother in law brought it up again today and we got into a conversation about how the Savior is ALWAYS there. Here is the picture.
2. My Family!! It has been so nice to be able to come home and spend the time I have with my family. I really do love them and am so blessed to have them all in my life. When my family gets together it is like a circus. The kids running around going crazy and tons of jokes going on. If anyone knows my family they know they are very sarcastic and love making fun of each other. I always die laughing when I am with everyone. We always get together and have food and just chat. This year for Christmas Santa Clause got Just Dance 2 for the Wii. Oh can I just tell you how much my family loved this. Everyone in my family got up and had to do at least one song. It was very entertaining and funny especially since no one in my family really has rhythm. We spent hours playing the game. After, being with them just once it makes me realize how much I miss being home with them! I love my family!!
My brother in laws Kasey and Dave playing Wii DanceMcCaslin, Kassidy, and DillonMe and my sister Ashley
3. Gifts!! I am so grateful for the opportunity to give and receive gifts this holiday season. I love giving gifts and seeing the excitement on the people's face when they open the presents. My favorite thing is to watch my nieces and nephews open gifts because they get soo excited!! My family since we are so big every year picks names to see who we will be getting a present for. This year I got my brother Matt. I asked him what he wanted and all he kept telling me was a house so I came up with a brilliant plan. I printed off an flyer for a house then but an I O U $5 (toward your house) note in the envelope and gave it to him!! haha don't worry I gave him a shirt from American Eagle too! My sister Adina had me. She gave me a shirt which I guess all my sister's and Sister in law have so we were thinking about wearing it all on the same day! lol NEVER would happen!! Also, she gave me these frames that are all connected together with pictures of my nieces and nephews in it. The pictures are hilarious and I love all my nieces and nephews! I am so excited to hang it up in my room at school. Santa brought me gloves and money!! My parents then got me gift card to nordstrom and some perfume!! I didn't really care or feel like I needed any gifts but I am so grateful and excited for the ones I got!!
Karson Luigi bringing in presentsMy Presents
There are many more things that I am so grateful for during this Holiday season but it would be the longest post ever if I kept going. I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas because I definitely did!!

School is OUT!!

Finally, after one long semester school is out and it is winter break!! This semester was probably one of my hardest semesters since starting college. My psychology stats teacher was like out to get Minni and me in making sure we wouldn't pass. We definitely proved him wrong even with missing because of soccer I was able to pull off an A-. I would say that is pretty dang good considering at the first of the semester he said a C and B were good grades. Also, after we told him that we were going to miss for soccer all he told was "good luck." It reminded me of the guy that said it on the movie Taken!! After he said that I knew I was going to work my butt off to get a good grade and it definitely paid off. I ended up with an A- in behavioral neuroscience but I ended up with A's in the rest of my classes. This semester I had room to take bowling so I definitely signed up!! It was probably the best idea I had. The class consisted of going twice a week and bowling two games. I improved my average and the bowling teacher taught me how to improve my game. lol I can't remember what my highest score was but I think it was around 190 or something!! I LOVE bowling!!! I hope to be on a bowling league when I am older like my mom and aunts.
The other classes that I had were Human Development, Sports Psychology, Adult Aging (such a boring class), and Soccer (love that I get a credit for playing soccer). Overall it was a great semester and I am definitely way happy about my grades. I don't want to even think about next semester....its going to be HORRIBLE!!! What doesn't kill you only makes you stronger right? haha Now I am going to forget all about school and just enjoy spending time with family and friends!!

Soccer

I can't believe it my junior year of soccer is over!! It was a way fun season and I loved my teammates. We ended up taking third in our conference which is good but we should have done a lot better. In the end it was a really exciting season and there was definitely some rough, intense, fun, exciting, disappointing, and enjoyable times. There were many memories made that i won't forget from this year. I made (with the help of my bro) a video of pictures for our team banquet of some of the amazing times we had as a team. I definitely will miss my seniors! They were amazing and I loved playing and hanging out with them!! It was a great year and I can't believe I will be a senior next year!! Here is the video I made!!

It's been FOREVER!!!

Ok I know it has been forever since I have blogged but my life has finally slowed down a little bit so I decided I would update my blog. My goal is to try and stay on top of blogging now. I don't even know where to begin so I will just start from August and give ya a little preview what has happened in my life.

1. The last week in July I quit my job at Krave Self-Serve Yogurt. I had worked there all summer and with soccer starting I wouldn't have been able to keep it. It was a super fun job and I loved it most of the time especially the people I worked with.

(1st day of work)

2. I got to go home the whole first week of August before soccer started. It was probably the best week of summer. I was able to see my family, hang out with friends, see movies, go to the real game, watch my nieces and nephews soccer games, swim, and just have lots of fun!!

3. The second week in August is when soccer started. It is what has been consuming my life the past few months. I love everything about it and I love the girls I play with. The season hasn't gone as good as I expected it to but it definitely has been way fun. We have had many road trips that have been crazy but way fun. We have gone to Vegas, Montana, San Fran, and Arizona. We are almost done and only have 4 games left. That is way weird to think about that I only have 4 games left of my junior year. Time definitely flies when you are having fun!!

(top left: riding the roller coaster in Primm; top right: beach in san fran; bottom left: beach in San Fran; bottom right: team picture day)

4. The second thing consuming my life right now is school. It started the end of August and it definitely has been my hardest semester so far. I am majoring in Psychology and I am trying to graduate with my bachelors by the end of next fall.

5. I have been just having fun hanging out with my roommates, friends, and soccer team. We do the most random things which are way fun. We have gone to the fair, gone to dinner multiple times, bonfires, scoot scoot rides, camping, made music videos, bowling, movies, played baseball, and any other crazy thing that you can think of we have done!! If I put up all the pictures it would go on for ages but here is just a few of the things we have done.

6. My birthday was October 8th and I turned the big 21!! It was the best birthday I have ever had!! First, Jeremiah surprised me and decorated my room. Second, my roommates made the traditional birthday sign for me. Third, I got to go home. Fourth, my roommates gave me the best present ever...Nike Frees. The ones I have wanted for like a year. Fifth, I got to see my family. I love them and love spending time with them. Sixth, I went to dinner with a bunch of friends. Seventh, I got to see my best friend since before preschool because he got back from his mission. Finally, the best part ever was that I got to see my best friend Lauren get engaged!! It definitely topped the night off and I freakin love her and Chris (her fiancee). It was so cute he did it outside of my house and I about died when he did it. The cutest thing ever and I am so excited for them!!! I will have do a separate blog just about them and how it came to be.
So pretty much those are the main events that have happened in the past few months. They definitely have kept me busy but everything has been way worth it. I can't wait for the times to come because this year has been amazing!!

Welcome to Whitty Words
Hey I decided (well Nick and Juli decided) that I should start a blog! Juli was nice enough to get me started. I am currently living in St. George. I am going to Dixie State College and I am playing soccer for the women's team here. I just finished summer school which is such a relief but only to find out I have a month off before I start school up this fall. I plan to fully take advantage of this month off. I start soccer up on August 9th and I can't wait. I am excited to start playing again and for everyone to move back down here. It should be a really good season

Never go through life without goals
